Permission Viewer

A clearer way to think about app access on your device

Why view permissions at all?

Permissions are the bridge between your apps and your device features. When you grant access, you are allowing an app to use things like your camera, location, or files. Permission Viewer is about seeing those choices in a calm, readable way so you can adjust them with intent.

You do not have to understand every technical detail. It is enough to ask simple questions like: “Does this app really need this level of access for what I use it for?”

Common permission categories

Camera & mic Video calls, scanning, recordings Grant only where obvious
Location Maps, nearby search Prefer “while using app”
Files & media Photo editors, messaging Limit to trusted apps
Notifications Alerts, reminders Silence where not needed

Lightweight review routine

A full audit sounds heavy, so keep it simple. Once in a while, open your device’s app list and use a quick checklist:

  • Uninstall apps you no longer recognize or use.
  • Remove sensitive permissions from apps you rarely open.
  • Switch long-term background access to more limited options when possible.
